A focused 60-minute evaluation centered on a thoughtful critique of your work and an overall audit of where your career currently stands. We assess your practice, positioning, presentation, pricing, opportunities and goals to identify your strengths, challenges and areas with the greatest potential for growth. This session also allows us to determine whether advancing to The Artist Studio’s Studio Series is the right fit for you.

THE STUDIO SERIES
For artists who have completed the Studio Session and want to move forward, our three-session advisory is a deeper, personalized engagement focused on strategy, development and meaningful career direction. Over the course of one month, our three one-hour sessions will work through your priorities and opportunities in depth before delivering a tailored Artist Action Plan designed to activate you for the next six months of your career.

The Studio Session is the first step into The Artist Studio. This private, virtual 60-minute session is designed to give us a comprehensive understanding of your artistic practice and an honest assessment of where your career currently stands. The focus is on your work and your career, examining what is working, what may be holding you back, where opportunities exist, and what could have the greatest impact on your next chapter.

We’ll look closely at your artwork and practice, discussing the strengths, consistency, direction and overall evolution of your work. This is an honest, constructive critique designed to help you understand how your work is being perceived and where it has the greatest potential.Your Career
We’ll take an overall look at where you are professionally—including your productivity, sales history, exhibitions, gallery relationships, collector base and current momentum.Your Positioning
How are you presenting yourself as an artist? We’ll consider your artistic identity, story, biography, artist statement, portfolio and the way your work is positioned within the current Canadian commercial art industry.Your Presentation
We’ll assess the ways people encounter your work, including your website, social media, photography and portfolio, and identify opportunities to strengthen your professional presentation.
Your Goals
We’ll discuss where you want your career to go and what success looks like for you. This helps us distinguish between what you could pursue and what you should actually be focusing on.
What You’ll Leave With
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of where you are, what is working, what needs attention and where your greatest opportunities may lie. Most importantly, the session gives you an informed outside perspective from someone with extensive experience working within the commercial art industry.
The Studio Session is also our opportunity to determine whether there is a strong fit between your goals and The Artist Studio’s Studio Series. If we believe a deeper engagement would be beneficial, we’ll discuss what that could look like and where we would focus our work together.
